© Gary Gribben© Gary GribbenThis small coastal settlement at the mouth of the Umkomaas River, is best known as the launch spot for diving the fabulous Aliwal Shoal. But there is more to this lovely little town. A nice beach, lots of fun little guest houses and hotels, and all the expected coffee shops, restaurants and bars make it a great place for a general holiday. The Umkomaas River offers great birding, and it's really fun to explore by canoe or even hovercraft. Of course, the fishing is excellent, and keen golfers can choose from a range of courses.
